With the continuous deepening of transition to clean energy, it is necessary to fully stimulate the vitality of market competition and build an advanced power market system by combining national conditions on the premise of ensuring the safe operation and green development of the power grid. Since 2015, China has made rapid progress in electricity marketization. A spot trading mechanism for electricity has been established, through which, people use flexible market price signals to guide power production and consumption, improve the regulatory capacity of the power system, and promote the development of clean and low-carbon energy. However, while remarkable achievements have been made, there are also some problems existing, and market mechanism, utilization of clean energy, safety check, and other key technologies still need to be further improved. Therefore, the academic and industrial circles of all countries are called for to jointly carry out theoretical innovation and practice in related fields to implement the optimal allocation of electric power resources. To effectively guide the academic research and industrial application trend in this field and further strengthen academic exchanges, we sincerely invite global researchers to submit papers and contribute actively to discuss hot topics and share latest view.
Chair: Zhi Cai, China Electric Power Research Institute, China
Zhi Cai (M’20) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2006 and 2009. Currently, he is an associate professor in China Electric Power Research Institute. His research interests center around modeling and analyzing problems in power system. Recently, he is working on the construction of various provincial electricity spot markets and China's transregional electricity spot market. He is a peer reviewer of Journal of Cleaner Production. He has authored more than 20 publications in journals and proceedings of international conferences.
